Ro Khanna, who was seen as likely to run for senate has said that he is not running and endorsed Barbra Lee instead  

Rep Khanna also took a few minor jabs at Schiff in an interview  

He said that the field of candidates played a role in his choice to support Lee  

• “We don’t have a single African American woman in the United States Senate,”  

•  “She would fill that role. She’ll be the only candidate from Northern California.”  

• Both Schiff and Porter are white and from southern California
